Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Science & Technology, or a related field.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record.
- Upon hire must be able to secure and maintain a “City Officer” commission to conduct investigations and issues notices to appear in municipal court.
- One year of practical experience in the construction industry.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Must have a working knowledge of personal computers and software applications such as word processing, database, Bluebeam and spreadsheet applications.
- Certifications: Must obtain within 12 months of employment with the City, at least one of the certifications designated as a core credit and one of the certifications designated as elective credit for obtaining a Master Code Professional certificate through the International Code Council’s national certification program.
- Multi-Disciplined Code Official I: This is an entry level position. Must obtain within 12 months of employment with the City, at least one of the certifications designated as a core credit and one of the certifications designated as elective credit for obtaining a Master Code Professional certificate through the International Code Council’s national certification program. One year of practical experience in the construction industry.
- Multi-Disciplined Code Official II: Must possess the following certifications from the International Code Council: Residential Building Inspector, Commercial Building Inspector, Commercial Electrical Inspector, Commercial Mechanical Inspector, Commercial Plumbing Inspector, and Building Plans Examiner. Other types of professional certifications demonstrating proficiency in the building codes may be reviewed for equivalency. Three years of experience as Multi-Disciplined Code Official I or equivalent experience. Equivalent experience should be a combination of experience as a Multi-Disciplined Inspector and Plans Examiner.
- Multi-Disciplined Code Official Senior: Must possess a Master Code Professional certification from the International Code Council. Three years of experience as Multi-Disciplined Code Official II or six years of equivalent experience. Experience should be as a Multi-Disciplined Inspector and Plans Examiner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY (Direct & Indirect):
No City residency requirement.

Must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, physical exam and essential functions test.
Normal Work Hours: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Mon.-Fri.
Salary Range:
I - Grade E: $56.498.00 - $75,337.50
II - Grade F: $61.828.00 - $82,406.93
Sr - Grade G: $67,158.00 - $90,946.90
